If you've been following us for a while now then you'll know that we have been in love with this beautiful brand ever since we first discovered it. You'll also know that the love has never faded which is why we are still adding to our collection and are so happy to have their stunning wooden treasures in our store.
So join us as we learn a little more about their journey and the people who created Tateplota...
The beginning...
In 2013 Tasia expressed her creative side through her love for knitting and began selling her handmade knitted animals which is when Tateplota was born. Not long after Roma joined her and started a collection of little wooden furniture to accompany her beautiful knitted animals.
Over time their creations orgnically grew in popularity and they made the decision to leave the city and move to the country so they could be closer to nature and start their own workshop.
They appropriately called their workshop 'warmth’ which is exactly what they wanted to bring into people's homes through their magical wooden and knitted pieces.
When Tasia became pregnant with their first child she had to take a step back from her knitting which is when Roma stepped in and began designing and making their incredible collection of wooden toys.
Not surprisingly, people absolutely loved them and the business grew very quickly.
All in the detail...
One of the many things that we love about this brand and their toys is the attention to detail and the exceptional quality that is evident in every single piece that they create.
Each toy needs to be experienced and explored to be able to be fully appreciated. Every join, edge and surface is seamless and without fault while perfectly showcasing the incredible beauty of the wood that has been used.
When you take home your first Tateplota wooden toy, only then will you truly be able to understand that they aren't just incredible wooden toys, but that they are also incredible pieces of art.
All of the small details that they focus on, come together to create an experience and a journey for the receiver.
Even the beautiful wood shavings that are used to keep the toys safe during shipping, have been slowly and carefully made by hand through the process of planing the wood.
This somewhat small detail adds a whole other dimension to the unboxing experience for the customer. This is always at the forefront of what Roma and Tasia have set out to achieve - creating something unique and magical that will be passed on from one generation to the next.
