The Inuit are an indigenous people of the Artic regions of North America. They adapted to the extreme climatic conditions by utilising their essential skills of hunting, trapping and creating fur clothing which allowed them to survive and thrive in the freezing cold temperatures. Agriculture was never possible in the millions of square kilometres of icy land, therefore hunting became the core of the culture and history of the Inuit.
These amazing handcrafted figures are a beautiful, hands on way for children to learn all about the rich culture, stories and history of the Inuit people.
Each figure has been intricately and skilfully carved in wood, then carefully sanded by hand, so there are no sharp edges. They are then beautifully painted by hand and coated in a top layer of olive oil and beeswax to protect them.
