Description
We are so excited to add these beautiful handmade wooden insects to our range.
Most flying insects have 4 wings but flies only have 2. They can fly up and down, side to side and even backwards! To eat, flies vomit on their food first and the acids inside the vomit break it down into liquid so they can then easily suck it up.
Despite being viewed as an annoying, dirty pest to most, the fly is a source of food for many animals including frogs, birds and snakes.
All of the insects in this collection feature incredible detail and are such a lovely hands on way for children to learn about different types of animals and the important roles they play in our ecosystem.
Wooden animal figures have long been used as a hands on educational tool to help children learn about different animals and the world around them while also having lots of fun engaging in imaginative play.
Our wooden insects are perfect for small world and educational play while also being a beautiful piece to display.
