Sacrifice seems to play a key role in the success of anything thats important to me and I assume it’s the same for most people.
It’s a vital part of my relationship with my husband - that and comprimise! At times it is difficult to put into practice but when I remind myself of whats really important then it’s much easier to let go and move on. The older I get the easier it is to let go of the little things and the more I find that I don’t always have to be right! It’s a much happier and peaceful place to be.
When it comes to our business, I find that it’s vital to put everything you have into it which can be difficult at times when you don’t really see immediate results or rewards. It really is a case of constantly putting yourself out there and often getting nothing in return! That has been the biggest hurdle for me personally. Nobody likes rejection and when you build up the courage to put yourself out there and hear nothing in return it can be hard to not take it personally and to push yourself to keep going. Everyday is a challenge with new challenges and hurdles thrown in when you least expect it!
Before we started our business and before I became a mum, I used to routinely get my hair done every 6 weeks, my nails done every 2 weeks and went shopping whenever I felt the need (so every pay day!). It has now been 1 year since I visited the hairdresser and I haven’t painted my nails in just as long and shopping...well you get the idea!
My point is, I have come to realise what I can do without and what is really important. I have learnt that if you really believe in something then it is impossible not to put everything you have into it. Even if you don’t achieve what you set out to, the knowledge and experience that comes from the journey, for me, will always be worth it.
Thank you for reading.
